Background:

For many years, the Rhätische Bahn employed G 3/4 series steam locomotives for road and switching duties. This beautiful LGB model, the first LGB model of an RhB steam loco, brings a new era to LGB RhB fans. The model is a detailed replica of the original RhB G 3/4 11 including opening cab doors and detailed boiler backhead. Technical features include automatic directional lighting and a working smoke generator. Plus, it is equipped with an onboard LGB Multi-Train System decoder for fuss-free operation on both analog and MTS layouts. With this beautiful reproduction, you can have a Swiss railroading legend on your own layout!

The loco together with its original box, instruction manual, and driver figure are in factory-new condition.

The Prototype:

This steam locomotive was commissioned in 1903 and remained in service on the RhB into the nineteen seventies. The LGB model is a prototypical replica of the loco, which became internationally famous when it was used in the film version of the novel "Heidi" in 1952.

Operation:

This LGB Steam Locomotive is one only two designed by LGB to use the Massoth Pulsed Smoke Generator, also available at our store. It features synchronized smoke synched to the speed of the loco and its wheel rotation. Also available is the enhanced smoke element for outdoor use only, that produces a remarkable amount of smoke (see this on the video at Massoth.com). The loco has directional lighting that can also be controlled via the MTS or DCC control systems.

The loco comes with original LGB smoke fluid and an engineer still in a factory sealed bag.

This loco can be run on analog power, MTS power and control or DCC power and control. The loco can also be used without a rack on the track. Many control functions can be programmed in the decoder including acceleration, deceleration and breaking.
