This is another of my favorite LGB models and offer all the advantages of the pre-marklin LGB german products for operation with analog power or MTS, DCC using address 0 for analog locos. The tank loco has lots of room for adding DCC motor and digital sound as well as the new Massoth Pulse Smoke Generator. For analog only operation with sound add the new S decoder now on sale at our store at a special introductory price (see store for details).

Interior Lighting: Use Shourt Line interior warm white LED light fixtures for prototypical accurate cab ceiling/instrument lighting and coal bin for nighttime operations. The new eMOTION XLS Sound Decoder is the up and coming standard of the exquisite garden model railroad sound decoders. The XLS features a powerful output stage for up to two motors (3 AMPS) as well as 1 AMP for sound, light, and other functions.

Additionally, 11 function outputs including 3 light outputs and 4 contact inputs are available which makes this unit exceptionally versatile.

The integrated sound power amplifier with 6 independent sound channels sets the standard in today's locomotive sound simulations. The audio power amplifier delivers 1 watt (sinus) at 8 ohms impedance. The eMOTION XLS Sound Decoder delivers optimum characteristics for analog and digital operation.

Optimized Analog- and Digital operation guaranteed
The XLS works in analog mode starting at the lowest voltage possible. The settings and functions of the decoder may be set with the DiMAX PC Module and may be used in analog mode. Thus sounds may be triggered in analog mode via reed contacts.

NMRA DCC and LGB© MZS/MTS
The eMOTION XLS is compatible to NMRA/DCC and works with all generations of the LGB MTS systems. State of the art DATAFLASH technology and the latest programming procedures enable the reloading of sounds and software directly via the track.

ORIGINAL SOUND in digital quality
The XLS is delivered with a HiFi loudspeaker (57 mm - depending on loco selected) with a metal cap and an interface cable for LGB and Aristocraft DCC. The unit may be installed wire by wire as well. Mounting material is provided.

All sound features are available at the lowest voltages possible. A stabilized analog operation is guaranteed at 5Volts.

The eMOTION S supports the full NMRA protocol. The eMOTION S features an automatic detection of LGB® MTS signals which makes this sound decoder ideal for all generations of the LGB® MTS system. The bus interface may be used with Massoth/LGB® OnBoard or SUSI protocol. Fits into all G-Scale locomotives like Bachmann, USA-Trains, Aristocraft, Accucraft, KISS

AUTHENTIC SOUND in digital quality
The eMOTION S sound decoder produces authentic locomotive sounds in digital high-level quality. Massoth uses only sound recordings of original locomotives adjusted to the sound decoder's technology. The eMOTION S may hold more than 2 minutes of sound. This enormous capacity is sufficient for a variety of additional high-quality sounds. The sound decoder features a 3-Watt high-performance output stage. The volumes of all 16 sounds may be adjusted separately.
Massoth utilizes top-of-the-shelve technology paired with state-of-the-art processing ensuring reprogramming via the programming track. This guarantees that all decoders may be updated at any given time as well as for all new decoder generations to come.
Note: A sound upgrade or firmware update may only be done with a PC-Module (8175001)

The eMOTION S comes with an attached power cable and the SUSI interface cable.
In case your locomotive does not provide a loudspeaker you may choose one from our wide range of loudspeakers.

Automatic Power Buffer: This Loco has limited power pickup points that can result in loco shudder or stalls on the track due to frog points, dirty or uneven track and can cause pitting and blackening of the loco wheels. and a power buffer added to a decoder will ensure smooth operation and help preserve your loco.

The Shourt Line 6101222 Automatic 2 Wire 22,200uF Power Buffer is the perfect size for this LGB Corpet Loco. It fits inside the loco with XLS sound decoder and pulse smoke generator with room to spare.

The shoes of this loco may be removed once the Shourt Line 6101222 Auto Power Buffer is installed for a more prototypical appearance and to avoid the shoes catching on your switch tracks (points).

The Pulse Smoke Generator for retrofitting. This smoke generator may be retrofitted in most of the steam locomotives on the market.
The smoke is produced according to the steam chuffs. The 19 unit barely consumes 0.2 (0.5 with 5V) Amps and produces a remarkable amount of smoke.
A special feature: the smoke unit may be set to Diesel operation by a DIP switch setting. The synchronization pulse may be produced by a wheel pulse generator or by a eMOTION decoder (XL Motor Decoder or XLS Sound Decoder).
Two versions of smoke generator are available: 5Volts and 19Volts (19Volt smoke generator included with this loco).
The standard version (19Volts) suites the Massoth eMOTION decoders (including LGB®). The current draw is only 0.2 Amps.
