A new Massoth XLS Mogul Digital Sound Decoder with the original LGB digital Mogul sounds + extra sounds has been professionally installed using our XLS decoder adapter plate and a 5 watt speaker has been added to the tender. SL reed switches have been installed inside the motor block for bell and whistle activation from track magnets for both analog and MTS/DCC operation..
The loco is new, its motor block has been completely disassembled & old lubricants removed and high/low temperature waterproof grease applied and oiled with Shourt Line Diamond Nano Oil for generations for reliable service. The motor block has been machined a 4th wire rod inserted for DCC operation, this is required as this W. German loco was only made in a 3 wire non-DCC version. All work was done to LGB factory standards.
A 4 LED quad cab light ceiling fixture has been added by our model shop that provides warm white illumination via a downward wide angle LED for instruments & cab and 3 adjustable lights for illumination of the Engineer, Break man & Fireman on the tender. A working Massoth Firebox light has been installed for realistic fire simulation. The loco and all its features work on either analog track power or MTS/DCC. MTS or DCC allows complete remote control as well as light dimming and sound adjustment.

The power buffer is installed in the loco and stores energy to run your train should power be interrupted. Power interruptions often occur when a loco passes through a switch or over a bad or dirty section of track.
