Background:
The famous “030 T” meter-gauge locomotives operated all over France and in many other European countries. They were used in front of passenger and freight trains alike and were also used for switching. Today, several of these beautiful locomotives can be seen in museums. The LGB model captures the appearance of this classic steam loco. The three-axle chassis with its precisely calibrated gearbox provides excellent running characteristics.
The Model This detailed replica features: - weather-resistant construction - factory-installed onboard MTS/DCC decoder and LGB smoke generator for MTS/DCC and analog operation - four-way power control switch - protected gearbox with seven-pole Bühler motor - six powered wheels - one traction tire - eight power pickups - voltage stabilization circuit - smoke generator - automatic directional lanterns - one multi-purpose socket with circuit breaker - length: 305 mm (12.0 in) - weight: 2600 g (5.7 lb)
The loco together with its original box, packing and a factory sealed package containing an engineer driver figure, glue and a cover and pin to keep water out of the smoke stack during the rain and snow..
The Prototype:
Narrow gauge steam engines were the main product of the L. Corpet Locomotive Works in Paris. After the death of Lucien Corpet, his wife continued running the firm with the help of Monsieur Louvet, the name of the firm became Corpet-Louvet et Compagnie Although the firm still exists, it stopped building steam locomotive in 1952. until that time it had manufactured 1880 locomotives, most of them narrow gauge.
This LGB model is a reproduction of the firms famous Type 030T meter-gauge locomotive. 826 of these beautiful locomotives were built, and they were used thought out France and in may other European countries. Indeed, the 030 T is considered to be a classic example of narrow gauge steam locomotive.

This is one of my favorite LGB models and offer all the advantages of the pre-marklin LGB german products for operation with analog power or MTS, DCC using address 3 (the factory default).

The new eMOTION XLS Sound Decoder is the up and coming standard of the exquisite garden model railroad sound decoders. The XLS features a powerful output stage for up to two motors (3 AMPS) as well as 1 AMP for sound, light, and other functions.
Additionally, 11 function outputs including 3 light outputs and 4 contact inputs are available which makes this unit exceptionally versatile.
The integrated sound power amplifier with 6 independent sound channels sets the standard in today's locomotive sound simulations. The audio power amplifier delivers 1 watt (sinus) at 8 ohms impedance. The eMOTION XLS Sound Decoder delivers optimum characteristics for analog and digital operation.
Optimized Analog- and Digital operation guaranteed
The XLS works in analog mode starting at the lowest voltage possible. The settings and functions of the decoder may be set with the DiMAX PC Module and may be used in analog mode. Thus sounds may be triggered in analog mode via reed contacts.

The eMOTION XLS is compatible to NMRA/DCC and works with all generations of the LGB MTS systems. State of the art DATAFLASH technology and the latest programming procedures enable the reloading of sounds and software directly via the track.

The Pulse Smoke Generator for retrofitting. This smoke generator may be retrofitted in most of the steam locomotives on the market.
The smoke is produced according to the steam chuffs. The 19 unit barely consumes 0.2 (0.5 with 5V) Amps and produces a remarkable amount of smoke.
A special feature: the smoke unit may be set to Diesel operation by a DIP switch setting. The synchronization pulse may be produced by a wheel pulse generator or by a eMOTION decoder (XL Motor Decoder or XLS Sound Decoder).
Two versions of smoke generator are available: 5Volts and 19Volts (19Volt smoke generator included with this loco).
The standard version (19Volts) suites the Massoth eMOTION decoders (including LGB®). The current draw is only 0.2 Amps.Dimensions box apr.: 50x28x30mm

Enhanced smoke element for outdoor use only, that produces a remarkable amount of smoke (see this on the video at Massoth.com). Smoke Stack Cover Magnetic Latch:
Shourt LIne offers a Magnetic Latch to protect your smoke generator on this and similar LGB models. (service required) The smoke stack cover supplied with LGB locos must be open when operating with a smoke generator. To keep the smoke stack cover open and/or closed use the Shourt Line smoke stack magnetic latch Item No.: 3120840
The rare earth magnets used to latch the smoke stack cover open and closed will ensure safe operation of a smoke generator (open position and keep rain out of the stack when not operating (closed position). The latch will ensure an open smoke stack stays open and a closed smoke stack stays closed. Just one or close the smoke stack cover and the magnetic latch will hold the cover in the position selected.
