This a brand new G Scale PIKO. This robust and weather-resistant model was manufactured in Germany with UV and weather resistant materials for indoor and outdoor use. The model is extremely well detailed. This special American non-cataloged, limited production Amtrak Taurus Locomotive was produced in limited number with two road numbers; 1217 and 1218 (for both road numbers available upon request while supplies last).
The original Taurus prototype was produced in 1997. The OBB (Austrian State Railways) ordered a total of 75 (eventually increased to 400) universal locomotives from the two manufacturers Krauss Maffei & Siemens. The locomotives ( called "Taurus" by the OBB) were supposed to have 4 axles and an engine power of 6400 kW. The OBB also wanted the locomotives to be compatible with different current systems and to reach a maximum speed of 230km/h.

Comes in a two piece high density styrofoam case for transport and storage, complete instructions are included with two additional single bumper buffers come it a sealed bag.
An engineer figure is included to drive you loco and comes with front and rear directional lighting. An optional Shourt Line lighting kit provides interior and special alternate flashing of the lower head lights for crossings and signaling as shown above.

Easy install directions:
- Remove the 8 large screws on the bottom of the loco and the two smaller screws in the center of each end of the loco under the bumper and lift off the top of the loco:
- Remove the factory installed analog wiring harness shown above.
- Plug the sound boards SUSI bus cable into the decoder and the speaker to the sound boards speaker connectors:
- Install the decoder and speaker on the mounting posts provided on the base of the loco and mount the sound board as shown below:
- Plug the connectors to the front motor block and front light being sure to route the bulb wires between the guides at the center of the loco base:
Optionally replace the front and rear bulbs with Shourt Line Warm White LEDs for brighter lighting and lower power or install the Shourt Line Taurus 5 LED lighting kits on the front and rear for red and white lights as well as Mars/Ditch Caution lighting effects, contact the Shourt Line for details.
- Plug the connectors to the rear motor block and rear light being sure to route the bulb wires between the guides at the center of the loco base:
- Replace the top of the loco and the 10 screws removed previously:
- Run you loco!
